John Gross is Co-Founder and Co-President of Eden FX.

He began his career as a computer graphics enthusiast in the 80's. With the introduction of LightWave 3D in 1990, John was smitten. He became the de facto "LightWave Guru", even creating and editing the well loved "LightWavePRO" trade journal. John came to Hollywood in 1993 to teach LightWave to the vfx artists on Steven Spielberg's "SeaQuest DSV". He was invited to stay on as part of the team, so he left his mid-western roots and became one of the founding artists of Amblin Imaging.

At Amblin he helped to pioneer the growing use of CG in episodic television series. After a few years of creating vfx for SeaQuest, he supervised the team behind the creation of digital effects for Star Trek:Voyager. In 1996, John co-founded the Santa Monica based company, Digital Muse, which created effects for films, television and commercials. Clients included Paramount, Universal, Warner Brothers, Saatchi and Saatchi and the History Channel. Projects included Star Trek Deep Space Nine, Star Trek Voyager, Sliders, Roar, The Devil's Advocate and many others.

In 2000, John co-founded Eden FX with industry veteran Mark Miller. John serves as Co-President, as well as Creative Director and Visual Effects Supervisor. His pioneering background and technical savvy keep him involved in all aspects of production. John's belief in the importance of the culture of the company has won him the loyalty of many talented people who help to make Eden FX a successful and evolving force in the visual effects industry.
