He began his career in visual effects as a computer animator in the Chicago advertising world while making commercials at Skyview Studios, Post F/X and Editel Chicago.
In 1999 Fred moved to Los Angeles to work on the Star Trek: Voyager series for Santa Monica based Digital Muse (which was owned by John Gross, the co-founder of Eden FX). In 2000 he joined John at Eden FX where they continued to work on that series and then its successor Star Trek: Enterprise.
His work can be seen in the feature films The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Get Smart, Nim's Island, Hancock, Superman Returns, Spiderman 3, Hellboy, and Star Trek - Nemesis and the television series Lost, Chuck, Pushing Daisies, The Office, Ghost Whisperer, Six Feet Under, Alias, Surface, Invasion, 24, and Army Wives.
Fred has received five Emmy nominations with one win, as well as three Visual Effects Society nominations with one win. He also has expertise in pipeline and database creation as well as facility automation and infrastructure. Fred hails from Chicago, Illinois where he received a BA for his studies in photography and animation at Columbia College.
